This project optimises a DfE-approved budget by retrofitting existing buildings and as well as developing new buildings. The fabric and engineering solutions support careful allocation of funds to address critical non-compliant systems and support the creation of high-quality, inclusive teaching spaces.Block C marks the first phase of the scheme to enable refurbishment of the existing sites.
etch Associates are leading the mechanical, electrical, and sustainability design for the new SEN teaching block, collaborating with Contour Architects and Edge Structural Engineers on this timber structure. The design aligns with AECB sustainability standards and delivers best value through intelligent engineering, efficient energy systems, and a fabric-first approach tailored to DfE benchmarks.
This scheme reflects our strength in delivering thoughtful, cost-conscious engineering within educational environments, combining inclusive design with long-term sustainability.
